Thank you for contacting the WA Student Visa Branch (WA SVB).

Your email has been forwarded to a processing officer. Please be advised that the WA SVB will not provide progress reports. WA SVB decides over 75% of e-lodged and paper student visa applications (lodged complete, with all key documents attached and health assessments finalised – where required) within twenty eight (28) days of lodgement. If you are subject to an exclusion period (e.g. PIC4013, PIC4014 or SRC5002) you should anticipate a longer processing time before finalisation of your visa.

Australian public holidays, especially those during late December and April, may affect our ideal response times and we ask that you be patient during these periods.

    Standard checking procedures:

Please be advised that the Australian Government requires all persons entering Australia to hold a valid visa. As part of visa processing, various checks must be undertaken prior to visa grant. In some instances the checking process may take longer than agreed service standards. Our office is not always provided with details on why the checking process is delayed, however you can be assured that your application is actively being assessed and you will be advised by email as soon as an outcome is achieved.

    For applicants inside Australia

    Progress reports:
WA SVB will not provide regular progress reports.

We will contact you to request any evidence required to finalise your application and advise of the timeframe within which you should provide this information. If there has not been any response within the prescribed timeframe or if the response is unsatisfactory or incomplete without a sound reason then, in accordance with legislation, your application may be decided based on the information available.

If you lodged your student visa application via the internet you can monitor all major milestone events using the eVisa Query Application Status (QAS) service at https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/inquiry...o?action=eVisa .The service provides instant feedback on aspects of the application that have been finalised as well as links to forms that may need to be downloaded and printed. Please check this page prior to sending an email, as all progress milestones will be reflected on the QAS site.

    Health:
You may be required to complete health assessments in support of your student visa application. Please use the information provided below at ‘useful links’ to self-assess whether you are required to complete a health assessment and/or chest x-ray and for advice on how and where to complete the assessment(s). In Australia, health assessments must be completed by Health Services Australia (HSA). Please ensure that you read the associated instructions carefully as we are unable to provide refunds for health examination fees if your application is refused.

    Scanning and sending supporting documents:
You may also be required to provide scanned copies of supporting documents, for example passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, civil/family status documents, confirmation of enrolment for dependent children over six years of age etc. We prefer to receive this type of document by email. To assist us to finalise your application quickly, please ensure scanned documents are clear, i.e. in full colour and of high quality (300 dpi). Please ensure that you scan original documents not copies of the original. We prefer documents to be saved in pdf format.

If you lodged your student visa application via the internet you can attach electronic scanned documents to your eVisa application. Further information is available at:
Attach Documents to a Student Visa Application

Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by a true English translation of each of those documents.

    For applicants outside Australia
