Dear students,
Quite a few of you have e-mailed us with questions about the acceptance, visa and other stuff. We will answer those questions in this e-mail. And we have some homework for you as well...
START OF PROGRAMME
Both the pre-medical and pre-dental programme will start on March 29, 2010. This means that all students (with their companions) should arrive in the Netherlands on 27 or 28 of March.
ACCEPTANCE
Every student has received an admission letter, either conditional or regular. Those students with an regular admission letter are admitted to the pre-medical/pre-dental programme, because they have scored an IELTS of 5.0 or higher. Students who do not have the IELTS 5.0 yet, you still have to be tested and get the 5.0 to get admission.
As soon as you have your language test results, please e-mail them to (تم حذف الإيميل لأن عرضه مخالف لشروط المنتدى).
VISA
All students who want to come to Groningen, have to fill in the authorisation form attached to this e-mail, and send it back to us asap. It is very important we receive these forms quickly, so we can verify your information and process your visa application quickly. You have untill 22 February 9AM, GMT+1 to do so.
So what we need:
Scan of your passport. Passport must be valid until 1 April 2011
Completed and signed authorisation form - page 1 (for every student)
Completed and signed authorisation form - page 2 (if you bring a companion)
OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF
Birthcertificate
Prepare a English translation and legalisation of your birthcertificate. You will need the birthcertificate to register yourself officially in Groningen and to keep your bank account open. More about legalisation here:
Studying in the Netherlands, for Saudi Arabian scholarship students. - Appendix B
If it applies to you, also translate your marriage certificate and have it legalised.
If you have a husband or wife, their birthcertificate has to be translated and legalised as well.
Communication
From now on, please use the (تم حذف الإيميل لأن عرضه مخالف لشروط المنتدى) address to contact us. If you want, you may also call us. Please keep in mind that we have a different weekend (sat+sun) to the Saudi weekend. We are also in a different time zone, which means Riyadh time is two hours ahead of Amsterdam.
We are available for all students, companions and parents for questions.
Lastly, we're on Facebook. Look for Antonius Deusing. There is also a special Facebook group for KASP-students in Groningen.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Kindest regards,
Arno Vos
