Applicants will be expected to have a BA degree (upper-second class degree or *****alent, that is, 60% or above overall) in a relevant subject, such as language, literature or linguistics. If you hold your degree in a non-language-related field, you may be admitted provided you can demonstrate that you have the required competence in English and Arabic.
If you are not a native speaker of English, you will be required to sit an international language test such as IELTS (which can be taken at most British Councils) or TOEFL. The minimum scores to be obtained are at least 7 overall for IELTS (with no element below 25), or iBT/TOEFL [Internet based test] (no less than 102 (with no element below 25). Students who have attained lower scores may be permitted to take the MA following completion of a pre-sessional summer language course in the Durham University English Language Centre. Details of this can be obtained via the Department of Arabic.

سالفورد كانت تشترط لا يقل كل قسم عن 5.5 والسنة هذي صارت تطلب ان الرايتنق بالذات لا يقل عن 6
