Essex ranked 9th best university in the UK
Essex has reconfirmed its position as the UK's leading university in the social sciences with Politics and Sociology ranked in first position, Economics in third position and Linguistics in fourth position nationally.
Essex Business School was ranked second best in the UK in the Accounting and Finance subject area. History was also ranked second crowning a strong performance in the Humanities with Art History ninth and Philosophy joint tenth.
